From the airport, drive into the Cape Winelands and make your way to Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s most beautiful and historic towns. Your base for the stay is the Stellenbosch Hotel, ideally located in the heart of the historic town centre, putting the cafés, restaurants, galleries and oak-lined streets of Stellenbosch within easy reach.
Check in and settle into your hotel before enjoying the remainder of the day at leisure. Take some time to explore the town on foot, relax at the hotel or enjoy your first taste of the Winelands over dinner.
Golf at De Zalze
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting off for your first round of golf at De Zalze Golf Course.
Designed by renowned South African golf course architect Peter Matkovich, De Zalze makes wonderful use of its setting among vineyards, mountains and the Blaauwklippen River. The course is known for its attractive layout and the premium it places on accuracy, with the surrounding vineyards and natural features coming into play on several holes.
After your round, return to Stellenbosch and spend the afternoon and evening at leisure. Explore more of the historic town, visit one of the many restaurants or wine bars, or simply relax and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Winelands.
A Day in the Cape Winelands
After breakfast, meet your guide at reception for a full-day wine tasting tour through the Cape Winelands.
Surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges and fertile valleys, the Winelands are home to some of South Africa’s most celebrated wine estates. The region’s Mediterranean climate and winter rainfall create ideal conditions for producing a remarkable variety of wines, and today you’ll have the opportunity to experience both the wines and the estates themselves.
Travel through the beautiful countryside towards Franschhoek, stopping at renowned estates such as Boschendal and La Motte. Enjoy wine tastings, beautiful scenery and time to appreciate the distinctive character of the region before returning to Stellenbosch.
The evening is free to enjoy at your own pace.
Golf at Stellenbosch Golf Club
Following breakfast, head out for your second round of golf at Stellenbosch Golf Club.
Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Stellenbosch mountains and surrounding vineyards, the course provides an enjoyable test of golf in a beautiful Winelands setting. The relatively narrow, tree-lined fairways reward accuracy, while the natural surroundings and vineyard-lined holes provide plenty of memorable moments.
Once your round is complete, return to Stellenbosch and enjoy another afternoon at leisure. With the town centre on your doorstep, there is plenty of opportunity to explore, shop, enjoy a leisurely lunch or simply relax after your round.
Wine, History & Stellenbosch
Meet your guide after breakfast for another full day exploring the Winelands, this time discovering more of the famous Stellenbosch Wine Route and the fascinating history of the region.
The Stellenbosch area is steeped in history, with its story dating back to the arrival of the Dutch and French settlers in the 17th century. Along the way, you’ll encounter historic buildings, monuments and beautiful wine estates that provide an insight into the traditions and heritage that have shaped the region.
Visit celebrated estates such as Rust en Vrede and Delaire Graff, enjoying wine tastings and taking in the spectacular scenery along the way. It is a chance to experience another side of the Winelands, combining exceptional wine with food, history, art and some of the Cape’s most beautiful landscapes.
Return to your hotel in Stellenbosch before dinner and enjoy a final evening in the town.

Enjoy breakfast before making your way to Pearl Valley Golf Course for the final round of golf on your Winelands journey.
Set within the beautiful Paarl-Franschhoek Valley, Pearl Valley is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the Cape. While no single individual can claim responsibility for the entire design, the masterplan was shaped by the vision of golf legend Jack Nicklaus, whose experience and philosophy are evident throughout the layout.
